As a Foreigner, and even
for many Thai's, traditional property finance or mortgage products are
still very hard to obtain in Thailand.
More recently, we have seen the development of vendors now starting to
offer 'seller finance' on some properties.
This is an excellent opportunity for the buyer who may have a limited
lump sum of capitol, but does have regular income payments (a retiree
for example)
Another buyer that would benefit from this system is a real estate investor,
enabling him to put a lump sum down, and then possibly having the remaining
payments paid off by a rental tenant.
Both of these scenarios allow you to be able to buy a better apartment
than what your current funds may allow if only purchasing for full cash.
This is as close as you will get to a traditional property mortgage or
home loans in Thailand.
